You may want to try my hack to trim the fat off WordPress 1.5 DashBoard. It is a simple drop-in replacement for wp-admin/index.php which loads much much faster without extraneous stuff.

I have three WordPress 1.5 based blogs running and I am enjoying my time playing with them. I am amazed at how flexible WordPress is (I am not a developer at all so these little things amaze me).

As far as the Dashboard goes, it’s not too useful for me, but then again I’ll never see it—I use a bookmark that goes straight to post.php to get to the administration section. So no big deal…

Couldn’t agree more with the Dashboard comments. To WR’s comment I’m not sure why you’re disappointed, it was never going to be a major upgrade but the way it deals with spam and comments makes it particularly worthwhile.

I have to say that I was dissapointed with Wordpress 1.5. The dashboard thing is the stupidest thing I have seen for a while. If I want to read their blog entries I will use RSS or go to their site. Anyway, just my 2 cents.
