ZDNet’s Coursey: “I am not a Microsoft lackey”

In yesterday’s AnchorDesk column, David Coursey called for an end to browser wars, saying that “Netscape should just give up.” Today, he’s acting surprised to be called a Microsoft lackey. Coursey’s original article also said that Real should “Get over it” and acknowledge Windows Media Player’s victory. He also seems to believe there is some kind of “Linux and UNIX Standoff” going on.

In the new article, he gets really defensive and admits that Microsoft buys him meals, although “no money changes hands.”

I know we’re getting really close to May sweeps for TV shows. I wonder if there’s an Internet journalism equivalent, or if ZDNet thinks there is… or perhaps there’s just no real news to report. Heaven knows that’s why I’m reporting on this…
